Crestwood...where the big mall USED to be? WHY...?!

Yep. Look, St. Louis is SEVERELY underrated in the nationwide food scene. The Hill, The Loop, Central West End, Dogtown, U-City, The Grove, and SO MANY more places to mention. At the same time - with all of the unique food experiences that STL has to offer, why put ourselves in the position of being swallowed up by our equally creative neighbors.

Crestwood is a town near and dear to our family's hearts. We grew up here and want to give something back to it. So it makes more sense to us to be more like a cold glass of water in the desert rather than another bulb on a strand of Christmas lights. (That analogy was cheesier than Provel...but you get where we're coming from.)

Jay went to The Lindbergh School District from 1980-1993 (Long / Sperreng / LHS), and Chloe is a student from 2010-2023 (Long / Truman / LHS). We lived on Gallop Ln. where Chloe was born and currently reside on Brookview Dr..

Jay nearly literally grew up in Crestwood Plaza. I know what it was like to walk to the mall every day. To take a date to The 66 Park-In Theater. To walk up to the window at KSHE 95 when the DJ's were broadcasting and ask for the newest bumper sticker. My family, friends and I are old school Crestwood enough that we remember when the IMO's was a mini Steak 'N Shake and when the "Ultra Mall" was still just a strip plaza. When you didn't care about the shoes at Buster Brown's because you were just going for the free balloon, and your Halloween costume always came from Woolworths.

Yes, Crestwood and the Smith family goes WAY back. And while nothing in life is 110% certain - it's is DEFINITELY our intention to open this ice cream parlor - RIGHT HERE in the 63126. To bring back an element of FUN to Crestwood, to give people a sorely needed place to go and get something delicious and unique, and to bring JOBS to the local community and especially to LINDBERGH AREA STUDENTS!
